About this Blog

This "Blog" is a collection of stories I've written. They all have one thing in common: they were all rejected at least once. This does not mean I think the editors were wrong! I want to share these stories because I wrote them, and I would hate to have them gather dust in a drawer.

Hopefully, this collection of stories of mine will inspire someone else to try and write and enrich our culture with their stories and ideas.

Dark Forrest

Let me take you into the dark forests. The people claim that the forests are not evil, nor do they do any harm. Yet traveller be weary, once you enter them, you will not return! Their trees grow proud and wide and far apart. Yet their canopies swallow even the brightest of lights. The deepest cave is more welcoming of life. The locals come and go as they please, they say. As if they know the safe paths, but you cannot see any going in or out. Just standing at the edge of them you hear the tree crackling as if they are moving, ghosts screaming and mocking you, you hear the hollow clattering of bones of the lost souls. It has been weeks since Keira last saw any other human being. There was a spy out there that she had to catch for a friend. “Do not let anyone else catch him.” He said. “For neither good nor evil must know of what he knows.” Yet he has not given any description of your target. “Once you see him, you’ll know it is him.” Was all that he described of him before he rode away in a hurry. She headed south and started searching, first by the northern ponds, then following the creeks south into the man-made marshes. Magic and artillery turned a once lush land into an inhospitable land, dividing the two realms. It was the third week, with her rations running low, when she saw a sleek, almost starved, pale-skinned creature ahead of her. A Royal Kidnapping

 "Triss and I will be attending the ball." Oliver points at you and himself, while he tries to hide his nervousness. "At the same time Graig and Cyal will wait underneath the coat room windows, which I will open to let them in." Oliver continues explaining to the attending group. "In the meanwhile, Triss will continue to charm the king. With the goal to get him away from his guards. Which will work except for his five closest friends" Oliver pauses and checks if Cyal and Graig followed him. "We all know that Triss is a very skilful fighter, but she cannot take them on, on her own, she must focus on the king. This is why we must take care of them.
